Recently, many iPhone 11 users were experiencing battery drain issues and some performance issues as well. The Cupertino-based company has said that they are working on fixing the aforementioned issues soon.
The Apple iPhone 11 is one of the best-selling smartphones in the year 2020. According to Apple, the iPhone 11 series helped them record their most profitable quarter ever, despite the pandemic slowing things down.
According to Apple, the upcoming iOS 14.5 update will help users recalibrate their iPhone 11 smartphone batteries. The update will soon make its way to the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. According to a support page on the Apple website,
Recalibration for maximum capacity and peak performance capability will happen over time with regular charge cycles. If the process is successful, the recalibration message will be removed and your maximum capacity percentage will be updated.
The Cupertino based company also said that the update is currently under testing and will be soon rolled out to users facing the problem.
Apple will replace iPhone 11 battery experiencing drain
If you are one of the few unlucky users who are facing battery drain on the iPhone 11, Apple will send you a message on your phone, stating
Your battery health reporting system is recalibrating Maximum Capacity and Peak Performance Capability. This process may take a few weeks.
However, the calibration might not work for all users alike. If the message persists even after you update your iPhone to the latest iOS version, Apple will help you replace your battery for free. This means that your battery has degraded to the point where recalibration won’t make much of a difference.
If you want to replace your battery free of charge, you will have to visit your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider. However, that does not mean you cannot continue using your iPhone in the meantime.
This message does not indicate a safety issue. Your battery can still be used. However, you might be experiencing more noticeable battery and performance issues. An Apple Authorised Service Provider can replace the battery free of charge to restore full performance and capacity
In case you have replaced your battery from an Apple Authorized Store, the company said that it will refund such users while also extending their battery warranty.
We advise users to wait until recalibration is complete to contact AppleCare or visit an Authorized Service Provider. If a user is approaching the end of their warranty period, a complimentary extension to battery coverage will be provided. If a user previously paid for an out-of-warranty battery replacement from an Authorized Service Provider after seeing a degraded battery message or from experiencing unexpected battery behaviour, we will be providing them with a refund through AppleCare. – Apple Support Page
Siri will not default to female voice
According to a recent report by TechCrunch, Apple is considering making Siri male by default, removing the existing female voice. The change is expected to make its way in the upcoming iOS 14.5 update. Users will be presented with the option to choose either a male or female voice during the initial setup process.
